NO GAS FRIDAYS!
Attention: Anyone and everyone who thinks gas prices are too high, and want to make a difference about it.
While the majority of people are struggling to pay bills and buy everyday necessities, oil companies and their executives are kicking back on their yachts, sipping champagne, and watching the sunset off the coast of a secluded island. Fair? Not at all! Gas prices continue to rise but our paychecks are barely making ends meet. As the consumer, we (all of us who buy gas) should have a voice as to how much is too much for a gallon of gas. Making the decision to pay for gas to go to work, or go to the store and use that money to buy food for your family should not be something that hard working individuals worry about. Right now the average in the U.S. is over $3.50 a gallon. These prices are expected to be over $4.00 a gallon by the summer. We cannot continue to watch our money drain out of our accounts every time we go to the gas station.
One person cannot influence the oil companies and their greedy, over paid executives to lower gas prices so that we do not fear filling up our gas tanks. But hundreds, thousands, or millions of people can make a difference. There is power in numbers, and as the consumer, we have the power. We contribute over $400 billion a year to oil companies for their unfairly priced gas. And even after these rich snobs rob us at the gas station one day, they continue to do it week after week and month after month. Why do gas prices keep going up when the companies are making so much money? Have they not made enough that they must keep us paying more and more so that they can keep getting richer and richer? We need a change, this cannot continue.
As the consumer, we can change things. So instead of complaining about gas prices being too high, let’s do something to start a change. WE WILL NOT BUY GAS ON FRIDAYS. Go get your fill up on other days, but not on Fridays. Usually the ‘Do Not Buy Gas’ campaigns are only for 1 day, or 2 out of the entire year. This one will be different. We will not buy gas on Fridays, this week, next week, or 8 weeks from now. Our goal is to have the government and oil companies lower their gas prices, to a fair and reasonable price. Until that happens, DO NOT BUY GAS ON FRIDAYS.
We can use Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter to help get this going on a widespread scale. Word of mouth and emails can be used to tell more people about this.
