Non-native here. I am born and bred in Brooklyn, NY. We moved here a little over a year ago to - well achieve the dream of owning our own grass, trees, and more than one closet.

so you're still a NJ newbie kind of like me. anything about Long Island you miss? being a city kid - for me the burbs are the burbs. as long as i can commute to the city (nyc) i'm okay.

Thanks for inviting me to your group.. I know we are going to have lots of fun. I am a stay home mom and have 2 kids, a cat and just yesterday got a dog :)... so our family is complete.

I like to write and read, most of my time I dedicate for my children and home, we dont go out much, dont have any reliable family to care for our children, so we do everything with them.. (sigh).. cant wait til they are a little bigger and can regain time with my husband. Well you girls can go to my page and look around or message me.. I will love to make new friends :)

Welcome.  My SO is from the Bronx too. ;) Woodbridge isn't too far from me. I go to the Woodbridge mall often. It seems like in NJ everywhere is only 20 minutes away. LOL

What kind of doggy? Share pictures!

We don't have much family out here either. So it is a bit of a struggle to do things. But we found 2 really awesome college aged girls who babysit when we need. So a date night can be expensive but sometimes it's MUCH needed.

Hi ladies!  Thanks for the invite to the group.  I was born & raised in the Bronx.  I've been living in South Jersey for the last 8yrs but I still feel like an outsider to a degree. Probably because I have no family or roots here.  But, it's the sacrifice I chose to make so I could give my kids a better and safer environment to live in & they definitely are thriving here so I know it was the right decision for us.  Btw, we chose to live here b/c hubby was born & raised here & it was the better of the two choices (NY or NJ).

Hey Ladies,

I am also a born and raised New Yorker.  I spent my whole life in Manhattan until last year.  That was when we decided to give up the subway and 24 hour deli's for grass and deer that don't seem to be afraid of people.  Now we live in Plainfield and we love it.  It's a little tough because we don't have any family here and I am now expecting a second child (and freaking out a little bit trying to figure out what to do for childcare for a newborn).

I wouldn't trade my backyard for anything...plus, I think my DH looks sexy mowing the lawn...lol.

Hi everyone!  This sounds like a fun group and a great way to meet local Moms !  I have been married for 10 years in June and met my husband down in Baltimore where I moved briefly from New Jersey.  We moved back last year right before our son was born.  I was born and raised in Monmouth County (as were many generations before me) and could think of no better place to raise our son!  I have a large extended family here and we are all very close.   There is truly no place in the world like New Jersey!  Welcome to all you girls from out of state!  Enjoy!
