tricare & obgyn's...wtf?

ok so i just called tricare & they said since i dont wanna go off base i have to see my PCM then they send a referral and crap, then once thats done tricare sends me a letter with the name and address of my obgyn.. why the hell is it so difficult?? tricare needs to make this shit a lil easier on us!!! sheesh......lol just needed to vent a lil...........

hon - I hope you have better luck than I have with that. I had an appt with my PCM and it had to be rescheduled. I still havent gotten in with my OBGYN and I am due in 2 weeks. Thank god I had a midwife here so I could at least have some kind of check up! I agree that there has to be a better way! They defnitely need to make things easier! Good Luck!

yea they 3made me do the same thing an the doc tells u it will take up to two weeks to get bac to u .. call tricare four days after u see the doc ..an ask them if thye have one for u yet ... i already had app. set up an didnt even kno becaz tricare never sent me a letter an the docs called me.. telling me wen to be there ... lol

Lol this is what I went through. But they reffered me to the naval hospital. Make sure that your pcm does not refer you to the naval hospital because you will be stuck there!

LOL NOPE! STILL WAITING AND HAVING CONTRACTIONS CONSTANTLY! I HAVE GONE BACK TO SEEING MY MIDWIFE JUST SO I COULD HAVE A CHECKUP AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK. I MOVED HERE SO FAR INTO MY PREGNANCY THAT I KIND OF UNDERSTAND BUT I AM MAKING MY DH BRUSHUP ON HOW TO DELIVER A BABY JUST IN CASE LOL

Ok so i saw my pcm yesterday.. and i made it very clear i DONT wanna go on base and she seemed cool about it and told me she would give me an in town referral.. so hopefuly she sticks to her word bc ill deliever this baby myself b4 i go on base! LOL.. thanks for the advice!

Lol, well will they let you just go to the hospital and deliver? I would think so but who knows. Just make sure you have a shoe string handy to tie off the umbilical chord, lol. I watch to much tv.

hahahah! yeah they said tricare covers births at Onslow memorial.. so thats where i plan on having this baby at..
