My name is Dee and I was diagnosed with lupus about 6 years ago. However I had had it for several years prior to diagnosis. I was able to continue to work for 4-5 years after diagnosis.
I have recently gone on disability due to the fatigue and joint pain.
I have 2 grown sons and a wonderful husband. I must say that I would not be able to function as well as I do if not for their help.
I am so glad there are places like this to go to for support and friendship. Most people don't understand why you feel the way you do and because you look ok most of the time they can't understand that you feel so bad.

hi dee i am also new to the club its 5yrs since i was diagnoised with lupus i have a great husband and son who are wonderfull i have been bleesed . i agree about the hot bath it is the best way to get started , i was on a drug treatment for the lupus rituxin it was a study so i dont know if i got the real drug or not i started on 5/18/07 a drug by the name of orencia . you cand find info in the internet..i will let you and the other moms how it goes good luck to you.

Hello Dee, Welcome aboard!! I'm fairly new to this to.I was just diagnosed last year with Lupus but i think i have had it all my life,Because i've had joint pain,fatigue,etc every since i can remember! Yes people do not understand how we are feeling....unless they walk a mile in our shoes! I'm 36 years old with a 9 year old son....i struggle with every day life. I'm also a single mom....So its very hard. Every day is a struggle!! I just got out of a 4 year relationship....i miss him very much but he was no good for me! Any how...I have been in the hospital twice with in the last two months with flare up's.....The doctor said if i do not get a grip on things he will put me into a nursing home for awhile. We do not want that to happen so i'm tryin to live a stress free life...Yeah RIGHT....How do you do that? Any how i best stop rambling on...
