I know I am asking this question really early, but these are the types of things that I worry about.

Where is a good place to register for my baby shower?

I am not planning on registering any time soon, since Im only 9 weeks, but I have been thinking about this. I want to avoid the problem I had with my daughter's shower. I registered with Baby R us last time and my family and friends had a really hard time finding what I registered for. I realized that there are not many Baby R Us' around us and only Toys R Us' with a baby section.

So, what do you suggest? Where should we register?

I think Target is a perfect place to register!

There are plenty of Targets around us, that is a good idea. I havnt compared what they have versus other stores though. Have you?

I registered at Target and Walmart as mine and my husband's family don't live near the big baby stores such as babies r us and burlington. A good idea is to register for similar items at both stores and then have someone manage your registry (or you could) and once you see someone bought the item at one place remove it from the other. If worst comes to worst you will be returning a few items but at least you'll have them!

I had the same issue where it was hard for family members to find a Babies R Us and most of the time they didn't have the same stuff.  I also had that issue at Target, it seemed like everything was always sold out and my family had a hard time finding anything to purchase at the stores.  We don't live near a WalMart but most of my out of town family does but I still wouldn't register there!!  Only because I don't like that store.  I think you have to just find what's right for you and no matter where you register not everyone is going to have a store close by or be able to find things as easily as another person.  I have registered online through Amazon.com for this baby and so far I've been able to find everything I need/want plus they have this new thing called Universal Wishlist where you can put anything from any website on the internet onto your Amazom wishlist.  Your family members can look at it and probably find things in their area at whatever store they want to shop at, that is if they don't want to purchase things directly from your wishlist online which was another issue I had with people.  My mom hates buying things online so she'd choose something to purchase off the list and go buy it at another store then it wouldn't show as already purchased on my list so I'd get two of the same thing.  Anyway, as you can see I have issues with registries!!!  I can't make it easy for EVERYONE so I just stick to whats easiest for me and just deal with getting doubles and things not on the registry.  I'm just super happy if anyone is even interested in trying to buy off my registry in the first place!!!

If they can't get to Babies R Us or Toys R Us (and online) then Target is the next best thing..
