Trying to get my 2 1/2 year old daughter to start putting herself to sleep.
I just started doing this last night, my friend told me I should just put a movie on and lay down with her and let her fall asleep. I used to rock her to sleep every night. When I first tried it she kept saying that she wanted to be rocked. When I did it last night she stayed up later then she ever has, it was 9:30 and she was still up so I caved. She was a little roudier than usual and kept saying she wanted the light on, or would get out of bed to try to run around. When it got close to 9:30 though she did start saying she was tired and wanted to be rocked. If it wasn't so late I wouldn't have caved. Im gunna try again tonight, but I just wanted to know if any of you had any tips for getting your little ones to put themselves to sleep.
My sister plays a soft, mellow CD which lasts about 45 minutes. I'm going to try this with my 2 year old. She fell asleep beautifully while she had her binky. But, now it's broken. Hopefully, it will work!!!
