Help!! My 2 year old hates to eat!!

Hi ladies!! I have no clue what to do! My son just turned 2 on December 15th.  I have been having problems getting my son to eat table food since he basically was able to! He is the worlds pickiest eater and seriously hates almost everything. He hates vegetables...gets them in his mouth and then quickly spits them out or he just refuses to eat. He may take a bite or two of something and then he is done. I have talked to his pediatrician about this and she just thinks its a phase that he will grow out of but I do not agree. He has been like this since about 11 months old.

Its seriously starting to take its toll on me! I feel like a horrible mom and I feel like my son's eating habits are greatly suffering.

I have even tried Happy Meals from McDonalds or some place like that and he he hates them too!!

About at my wits end. Just wondering if anyone else is or has gone through something similar.

Can you guys share some simple meal ideas that he may enjoy??

Thank you so much!!!

My son is the same way. My dr also said it was a phase, but suggest giving him pedisure to help boost calories until he outgrows it. I just keep offering foods in the hopes that eventually he eats. It is kind of hit and miss, sometimes I can get him to eat a little bit, sometimes not. You can't force him to eat though, you just have to wait it out.

My 2 year old isnt a big eater. Hes getting better finally. Is he filling up on milk? Id try to offer a meal before milk so he doesnt down the milk then not eat. It helped us some. Pediasure is also good. Our dr said as long as he was higher than the 5% for his weight they wouldnt recommend it. Itll get better :)

My 4 year old is like that and I always make him try something at least once before he says he don't want it.

My daughter is like that too. But, getting her to try something is more challenging. If I put anything new on her plate, she acts like it's poison and will cry until we take it off. I just keep offering things. She used to be a great fruit eater and would still eat some gerber veggies so I didn't worry to much about her getting her nutrition with Cheerios and Milk plus Dr. recommended vitamins. Lately, however, she just wants snacks (fishes) or chocolate. Christmas and birthdays haven't helped. I guess we both get to wait it out.

My son goes up and down with his eating. One day he'll eat everything in site, the next I can't get him to eat anything. Kids eat to sustain so if my son's not eating, I don't force it bc I know he's up and down. We just don't allow him to have milk, bc he will fill up on milk and not touch anything else, and we don't allow snacking. If he wants a snack then he has to eat his dinner first.

Dd was like that because I had to keep her on SOY formula for a little longer since she was LI and could not have regular milk. She woud fill up on formula and would not eat. I started giving her flinstones vitamins and stopped the formula and her appetite grew tremendously!!

My nephew (4yrs old) is like that! There are only a few things he'd eat. Doesn't eat any meat (did ham here & there a few times when younger) doesn't drink milk(use to in bottle until my sister took the bottle away now he won't)

Let me just tell you what he does eat! lol

grilled cheese

dry cereal (only a few kinds)

peanut butter/jelly

spaghetti (no sauce, just a lil butter)

waffles/pancakes/french toast

pizza

and of course snack stuff & JUNK! lol

My sister and nephew has an agreement of sorts, a few times a week he has to try a new food, if he likes it it goes on the list, and if she makes it again, he has to eat it cuz its on the list! He recently told her that he wanted to try milk or whatever it was, done that a couple of times all by himself! So there are things that he has tried that he still doesn't like but then again there are things that he use to say he didn't like but just looking at it, tried and now loves it! Its a process for my sister but she use to just give him the things he did like & kept offering new things....for some reason when they would be over my house, I got him to try new things that he ate over my house by not even realizing that he didn't like it & just by putting it in front of him and not making a big deal out of it.

My kids eat pretty much anything/everything, however if there is something that they haven't tried but said they don't like it, I just keep putting it their plate & sooner or later they try it & either like it or don't....

Same story here with my 2 year old! He eats a lot of peanut butter & jelly or peanut butter & banana. Sometimes he'll go for chicken noodle soup & grilled cheese. Getting veggies into him is next to impossible! Pedisure doesnt work either, I have to fight him on drinking a little cup of chocolate milk. It's very frustrating, but I do my best. Also limiting snacking helps so he's really hungry by meal time. Recently I won't let him leave the table until he eats som of his meal, sometimes I hold onto his cars and tell him he gets one back for every bite he takes- that usually works because he's obsessed with hs cars!

My 2 year old is doing the same thing. But hes being like this even when it comes to drinking something. He constently wants milk. And if he decides to eat its either cheese or chicken he wants and then its only a little bit
