I'm 39 weeks pregnant for our second son.  I was just wondering for those of you ladies that have younger siblings for your 2009 child, how he or she reacted to a newborn in the house.  Our oldest son turned 2 on September 11.

Connor has done really well with his baby brother. We make sure he gets lots of attention too. His brother was born 9 days ago.

I had my 2nd boy 5 weeks before my oldest turned 2 and they are so good with each other! Joey loves to feed and hold his brother, Parker and now that Parker is moble they play so much together! I love it! The one thing that helped me is someone told me that you should attend to your oldest first. The baby can cry an extra few seconds and it's not going to hurt them, but if you put off your older child they can hold it against you and the baby. If Parker & Joey both want to eat, I grab Joey his food then grab Parker and feed him. Both boys are happy and not mad at me or each other and Parker has no idea that it took me 30 seconds longer to get his food then it should have.

I just wanted to wish you good luck! My DS (5/12/09) is the youngest of my 2 kiddos.

My daughter was 22 months old when her brother was born. At first she couldn't figure it out. Brother was in mommy's belly, now brother is out of mommy's belly. After the initial shock wore off she loved him and couldn't wait for him to play. She wanted to be mommy's little help. She often brought me the boppy. Now he is 12months and she will be 3 in April. She is rarely away from him for long. At church they are in different nursery classes. As soon as I get her she ask to go get "brother" or "jijah." When she sees him she lights up and gives him hugs and kisses. She really loves her brother so much.
