has anyone started crawling yet? I'm trying to find out when my little girl will start crawling. we're hoping that she will take her first step before her birthday so her daddy can see (he's going back to iraq around then). does anyone know when they start crawling?

i think its like anywhere between 5 and 9 months when they start crawling. I didnt think my first was ever going to crawl. I dont remember how old he was exactly when he started but i was so happy and then after he started crawling it seemed like no time then he was walking. He started walking around 9 months old so he was kinda an early walker. But you just have to give them plenty of tummy time and they will get it eventually
It really varies. Some babies crawl as early as 6 months, others not until 9+. My son didn't crawl until 9.5 months. He was walking at 12.5 months. Both are considered within normal range.
Jacob is trying really hard!~ He is moving backwards and doing the plane as we call it... It will come in time... Dont rush it! Enjoy puting your cup where every you want for now!!!
My son is my world... I know I might be not be a cover girl, I may not be a marathone runner or a doctor, but I know I am a good mom and thats all I need to know.... I'm not always right, but I am learning as I go.... I vacinate, co-sleep, co-shower, let him CIO when he needs to, sing crazy made up songs, and say what I think, even if I know it may be wrong... My daughter started crawling around 8 months. My son is about to be 7 months and is just starting to get onto his hands and knees. He rocks back & forth but hasn't exactly started crawling yet. He creeps. He pulls himself forward with his hands and slides across the floor right now. LOL its pretty fun to watch.

My daughter also started walking around 13 months.
My daughter started crawling around 5 1/2 months, but she has a big brother to follow. She does the army crawl, pulling herself around with her arms and pushing with her legs. She does not hold her middle up at all. I don't think my son started that early. My son started walking very shortly after his 1st birthday.
Give your little one tummy time and put an interesting toy just out of reach as a goal.
My daughter just turned six months old and she is just starting the army crawl. My son who is three crawled when he was about eight months old and he was the fastest crawler in the west HA HA. He didn't walk until he was almost two but he was very able to get around by crawling.
My little girl, hasn't crawled yet, but she can sure roll everywhere, you leave her alone for a couple second and she rolls out of signht. She has figured out how to move her legs but not her arms. she wants to push with her head, she just turned 6 months, so I am not concerned yet.
