you are probably going to hate me but I made it a religion to lotion my belly almost every day during my pregnancy with cocobutter and other lotions and I have no stretchmarks at all. and I have seen worse though on stretchmarks. but try the cocobutter or some stretchmark lotion afterwards! what do you have to loose?

i used palmers cocoa butter for stretch marks..  i didn't get any stretch marks.  i have like 3 very light ones under my belly button from when he dropped but you can only see them in the light lol.

They actually think stretch marks may be hereditary and they say that some people get them and some people do not.. I used lotion religiously also and had no luck.. Its honestly just what your body does and how it stretches so some people are lucky and some are not.. i heard maderma for scars could help afterwards lighten them but nothing else really..

I have used stretch mark lotion every single day of my pregnancy 2 and sometimes 3 times a day since I found out I was pregnant at 7 weeks. I got my first stretchmark when I was 28 weeks and now they are on both of my sides right above my hips and some on my breasts. Every doctor you ask will tell you that lotion will help ease the itching but no lotion, oil or cream will ever prevent you from getting them. It all depends on the amount of elasticity in your skin. Everyone is different so not everyone gets them, lucky! Every time I hear someone say well you should use lotion etc. to keep you from getting stretch marks I cringe because I know I have religiously and its just not true.

I knew I was going to get them (everyone in my family has them) and I did badly! However, my little girl is a year old and they have faded to a silvery set of lines and no lotion, either imported or otherwise seemed to help. The lotion was great to help ease the itching but I must have used nearly 6 different types with none of them doing anything for the actual lines.
