Seasons Greetings Everyone!
Hope this year has found you happy and healthy. We have again had a year of ups and downs. At one point we had several churches looking at Joe to become their pastor, however, they did not pan out. Joe continues to work in the deli at Walmart in Rocky Mount, Virginia and seeking ministry positions. He is doing well and is healthy. In May they put a defibulator in his chest to regulate his heart beats. He has had no problems and so far the defibulator has not gone off.
I am doing well and have had no health problems. I stay busy with the boys. I often have to take Joe to work and get the boys to speech therapy or other activities. John is 7 (will be 8 February 1st) and Isaac is 4 (will be 5 March 15th). John is in 2nd grade in a public school special ed class for Autistic kids and is doing very well. He is making great progress. He is saying a lot more words, singing more songs, can read simple 3-4 word sentences, and is working on writing skills. Isaac is also making great progress with his speech and is beginning to speak in more sentences and his words are getting clearer. He is also learning his ABCs, shapes, colors and writing skills.
Both boys continue to take swim lessons. Earlier this year we found 2 great programs to help the boys and us. In January we learned about Friday Night Friends a program where they watch disabled children and the siblings for 2 1/2 hours one night a month so parents can go out and have a break to shop, eat or do whatever they need to do. We try to take the boys each month and it has been great for all of us. In March we learned about SPIRITHORSE a free therapeutic horseback riding program that was starting near us. We enrolled the boys and they started riding in May and have been going ever since. THEY LOVE IT!!!
Please continue to pray for us as we continue to struggle financially and that a church will come through for us this next year and that they will be loving and accepting of John with his disability and Isaac with his speech delay and us as we work to help both boys and for Joe to be back in the pulpit and active fulltime ministry. He has had some preaching opportunities at our church where we are members and at some others filling in for friends. The church we attend has been wonderful and very loving and supportive of us in many ways.
We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless You All!!
Love,
Angie, Joe, John and Isaac McK
