About The Truth about Infant Formula

When infant formula was first developed there was nothing but good intentions in mind. It arose with the purpose to supply food to babies when mom could not make milk, at the time if mom was in the 1% of the population or died they family would have to find a wet nurse. Of course this was long before the wonderful modern day breast pump and milk bank. It was a wonderful idea to keep families together and prevent children from starving. None the less, the infant formula industry has turned into a monster. It spends billions of dollars each year running misleading ads, "rewarding" healthcare professionals and paying for misleading research.

The notion that "if formula wasn't safe it wouldn't be on the shelf", astounds me. How can anybody see that as a valid argument when we all know that hydrogenated oils are very harmful but are still in almost every processed food! Then there are cigarettes, they cause cancer but they can be bought in almost every gas station or grocery store. Let's not forget about aspartame, it has been linked to neurological disorders but it is still regularly used as a sugar substitute...
