Do you use a daycare/home based babysitter/nanny/opposite shifts?
How do you make sure your little one is well taken care of while you are working?
I use a great home based babysitter. I think of her as part of the family. She been the only care-giver since my son (6) was born. The time they spend with her is winding down, DS will be in 1st grade and DD will start preschool in the fall.
When I was a teacher, DH and worked opposite shifts with a couple of hours of layover between when I got home and he left. At that time, we used a daycare for a couple years, then moved to an in-home daycare provider (her home) which we loved.
When we had our 2nd son daycare was much more expensive, so my mom offered to babysit full time for us (we no longer worked opposite shifts) for free. What a lifesaver!
By the time our 3rd son came along I was working from home full time, and they stayed with me at all times. If I had a really busy day that would prevent me from watching them properly, my mom still came up to babysit - but it was no longer on a consistent basis.
I work from home. In the morning, he's on his own playing games or watching cartoons until about noon, then I'm his until he goes to bed and I work from about 8-midnight or one. As long as he knows I'll be spending some time with him, he's okay with doing stuff on his own. Can't wait until school starts though, he starts kindergarten this year, so his schedule is 8-3. That means I won't have to work all hours of the night anymore!!! And with my other job, I take him with me (I'm a worship leader) and with my 3rd job, I have to get a sitter (I run my own catering business)
