What do you do to keep learning?

We all know continuing to learn and grow throughout our lives will keep our minds young. Sometimes if you are stuck in a monotonous job, it can be easy to push learning new skills, hobbies or information aside. What are you currently doing to keep learning? Are you in school taking classes? Training yourself outside of school in a new hobby or venture? Reading books about things you never knew before?

I have been in school for what seems like forever! I am not one to be still for long and I find something to fill every moment!

Uhm, nothing to be honest!  I read, I suppose that might count.  But I cannot fit classes or hobbies into my schedule. Reading is even pretty minimal.

I work at a university and they have work-life seminars, courses, and workshops a lot so I attend those.  I also attend courses here and there to improve my job skills.

I am also a youth sports coach and read books and articles about youth sports.

I am an avid reader and magazine fanatic. I love to be informed and will look up info online, at reliable sites, when there is a topic that I am interested in.

At work we are required to complete 20 hours of training yearly. My employer pays for an on line training site that has many courses on all different topics related to education to choose from. It's very easy to do. You pick your course, read the text and take a quiz at the end. Each course counts as one credit hour.

I teach about and work in healthcare & medicine. I learn and try to read every day. Supposedly, I should read between 7-11 research articles a DAY to stay current. It is crazy!

In my state requires teachers to complete 175 hours of professional development every 5 years. I work in a non public school so I only have to do 87 hours. So I go to conferences and trainings and such. I'm also always looking online and pinterest for new creative ideas to use

Many ways.

-My husband is in college right now, so we discuss his classes all the time. He is a history major. Lots to talk about!

-I read: fiction and nonfiction; articles and blogs; news and editorials. I read a lot.

-I listen to many, many different podcasts, mostly science or theology-related.

-I watch educational tv, almost solely. I love Nat Geo and the Science channel. My favorite show is Through the Wormhold with Morgan Freeman.
