I work full time as a housekeeper at a hotel. Needless to say this job is awful! Everything in the room MUST be perfect or the guest will get their room for free. I am scrubbing on my knees bending down twisting and whatever else you can think of to make sure the room is perfect. There is no "working up the line" where I work. There are only the executive housekeeper and the assistant. Those positions are already sewn up. Now what?! Keep working for a crap pay when I bust my butt all day long or find something new and better?

Well I want something better like everyone else. I have NO clue where to start. I have been a stay home mom for most my adult life and I have worked crap jobs. I can't go to college till my husband is done and he wants to get a masters.

An ideal job for me would be reception work in a medical office since you have holidays and most weekends off. Where do I even begin...I have NO experience doing that kind of work. I believe I have the qualities to become a great receptionist with the right training.

Any ideas on how I can get a job like this?

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Build a resume that focuses on skill sets you have that would be applicable for an administrative type of job (computer/typing, organizational, multitasking skills, etc.). Make sure you have good references lined up. Then set up an account on career websites like careerbuilder, indeed, etc search and apply.

Have you tried to go to the civil service department for your state and see if you can get a clerical (office) position that way? They will take people with no experience.
