Jury Duty

How does your employer handle jury duty?

I have jury duty, first time ever. My HR manager was not available so I had asked my coworkers how it worked with pay and what not. They all told me I had to use my personal vacation time because they said our employer would only give us like 12 bucks and if I accepted the 12 I had to hand over the check the court gives me.

Finally spoke to HR.

I get paid for the whole day from my employer and do not have to use personal time, and get to keep the court check.

Is it like this at most places?

I believe so. Both DH & I have served & we get fully paid by our employer + keep the check from the court.

Yes, that is how my job works, also. I have never done jury duty before. I don't think I want to. I would if i had to, but...

I think we get paid time off for up to a certain amount of days, and we also get to keep the jury duty check (which is not much lol)

We get up to 5 days paid.  After that, we have to use our PTO.

I am not sure. I have been called for jury duty once before, but I was exempted because I only worked part time at that time, so I was the caretaker of the children.

We get up to 3 days paid, and then its negotiation time if its a longer trial than that.

Yes, it is like that as well.  I don't take personal or vacation time.
