Howdy, Neighbor!

At my job we all work in cubicles.  Management likes to shake things up fairly regularly and have everyone move to a new cubicle for a variety of reasons (re-organization, lots of new employees, to break of cliques).

So we just had a major move and I've got a new cube neighbor.  He drinks very strong, dark roast coffee all morning, which I can't stand the smell of.  On the other hand, he's a major foodie, as am I, and we have great conversations about food and trade recipes, which is awesome.

How's you're work set-up? Have any great or horrible "neighbors"?  What's your ideal work environment?

I work two jobs and have an office at both of them. My one co-worker has really long nails so I can hear everytime she types something up and it's annoying plus she's constantly saying "oh my, now I have this to do" or "oh boy, let's get started" just weird things. They are all nice though.

At my other job, I travel from location to location and just use whatever free office there is and I've never had problems there. I love that job.

I am the boss, so I have my own office.  But the door is never closed.  I have a big window, but I Iike when employees feel free to come in.

We all have our own offices with doors. Most of us have exterior windows as well, but we all also have blinds that er can adjust however we want.

We used to play musical chairs, then my boss pulled his head out of his ass. My neighbors are awesome....we chat almost all day about all kinds of stuff.

Part of our problem is we have too many bosses. Top down: 1 Director, 8 Managers and each Manager has between 4-8 Supervisors...and then you have us little people.

After being very chatty with my cube neighbors they moved me near 2 supervisors and everyone else around me is super quiet.  I have become close with my immediate supervisor who gets on nerves with her constant whining and childish stories, but oh well.  The lady on the other side is quiet mostly but chats occasionally.  If she isn't in a good mood you better watch out because she's the biggest which ever on certain days.

All of the bosses have offices and the admin group is out in cubicles. My cubicle is away from everyone and faces them, it was set up this way for privacy since Im the gm's assistant. I like the privacy but I get lonely when everyone else has convos with their neighbors.

When I was in the office I had really nice cube mates. That was the one thing I was going to miss when they sent me home. I love it but it is isolating.

I sat next to a competitive know it all. He was constantly comparing himself to me. Work and school. He was the worse and always complaining when we were busy and even when we were slow. He's so miserable! Luckily I just transferred to a different department. I miss my window but the company is a lot better!
