Do you ever take a meantal health day?

I am so burnt out & tired. I almost "called in absent" today but the guilt overcame me, so I put on my big girl panties and chose to be responsible.

How about you guys, ever taken a unplanned day to re-focus, re-organize and/or re-evaluate?

Yes, I have. And we allow each of our kids 1 mental health day per semester.

Not unplanned. However, I would be tempted right about now if DH wasn't at home all the time. I could really use a day just for me to be home alone.

Yes, we are allowed 2 per year, where we can call off w/o it counting against us. We just have to specify that we are using a freebie day.

Every once in a blue moon. I never expect to, and most days that I want to, I don't. Usually I am convinced to call in when my husband starts weighing in his feelings. I have never regretted the few days I called in for a break.

Yup!!  I absolutely do.  I have so much sick time....i don't know what to do with it.  I currently have 232 sick hours that I've accumulated since 2005.  Heck yeah I will take a mental health day.  I certainly won't abuse my time and will take the time I need at appropriate times (not when something is due or I have an important meeting).  We are heading into a 4 week orientation program.  I will probably take one off sometime during this time or right after because it will keep us extremely busy.

I can't, but I do let my older kids take one day a month off from school. We all need one once in a while.

No. But I've thought about it. It wouldn't work real smoothly though, since I would have to take my daughter to daycare/my place of employment anyway. Ha.
