I have spent a bit of time this week-end reflecting on what I need to do with my boys during the week and week-end.
I need to be incorporating a few more chores in their lives. We used to do chore chart at night, it worked great with my ODS, but about 9 months or so, I just stopped, as it added 20 minutes of time pre-bedtime. The DSs were disengaged, DH and I were frustrated. However, they are soon to be 3&5 and I want them to know responsibility and success in our family unit without nagging them or hearing their whines.
My ODS gets dressed. I nag both boys to help clean off table at dinner with success, although it should be easier. My YDS, well, his whole day seems like a chore, just trying not to hit, scream and tantrum, but I would still like to give him the opportunity to be successful with some house chores.
I read 123 magic and other books, that suggest you do not punish for chores, how do thing work in your house?
