Seasonal Depression

Does anybody else get hit with seasonal depression in the winter? I just feel so much more run down these days when it's so cold, it seems like it's dark all the time, and the snow/ice makes me so anxious.

You actually burn more energy when you are cold, so you are actually more drained in general. And yes, I fell less energetic in the winter in general. I love being out in the sun, and when its freezing outside and that's not an option, I don't get that mood and energy lift mid-day.

I've definitely felt more run down lately but it usually doesn't get too cold in my area so we're able to go outside in the afternoon after we get home.

1 mom liked this

My sister does.  She has a sunlamp that helps her through winters.

I bought a "Happy Light" at Costco for my hubby to take to work with him. Of course, REAL sunlight is better, but Im curious to see if this will make a difference in his moods. He gets it pretty bad.

No. We rarely get snow and ice. I get excited on the rare occasion we see it. We tend to have a lot of sun during the winter, too. And, it certainly beats July and August; those are miserable.

Me too. I hate it. I would love to live where it's warm year round.
