What is your favorite recipe using refried beans?

Posted by   + Show Post

We recently gave 500 CafeMom members a free can of Old El Paso Refried Beans and asked them to serve them to their family.  They then shared with us what they loved about Old El Paso Refried Beans and how they prepared their Old El Paso Refried Beans.

Here's what some of our moms had to say:

I made a layered dip with the beans, sour cream, salsa and cheese. - Stacie03

My kids liked the taste! And they liked dipping their tacos into them:) - dejavu17

Even my very picky daughters ate them! - Ladybugmama86

Now tell us, what is your favorite recipe using refried beans?

There are people in this world who eat bean sandwiches.

Some of the combos for the sandwich are:
refried beans + canned minced ham or can of ham salad + mustard relish
refried beans + maple syrup + green onion
refried beans + hash brown pattie + cheese
refried beans + slice white onion + mayo
refried beans + cooked bacon slices + pineapple slice

We use refried beans a lot at my house.  Weather it is alone as a side, to bean dip, to mexican pizza and homemade frozen burritos.

My children and I love them in burritos.

I recently tried a new recipe: Chilis Rellenos Casserole & it was a hit with the children as well.

Texas trash dip is AMAZING!

Here it is.......
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
2 cans (16 ounces, each) refried beans
1 packet taco seasoning
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups monterey jack cheese, shredded

DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together cream cheese and sour cream in a large bowl. Mix in refried beans until combined. Stir in taco seasoning.
Spray a 9×13 baking pan with cooking spray. Spread mixture evenly into the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle the top with both cheeses.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese in melted and slightly browned. Serve with tortilla chips.
