Why is it that a paper cut hurts the worst of any injury? I got myself with a file folder today on the tip of my middle finger (right hand). So very thick paper cut. And it hurts so bad! And since it is on the tip, it gets hit everytime I do something! I had a child with no meds and a pain level of 2 afterward. Right now, I would take anything to numb this! (I know, I am a wimp!)

I think it's because nerve endings are closest to the surface of your skin, so shallow cuts and scrapes hurt more. Sucks!!

Never thought of that, but that makes sense!
