different job within

I applied for a position in another department within our hospital. Applied. Got interview. Heard good feedback.. well was hoping to hear something last week about it. Nope. Nothing....

Now this week the department head is gone for his father's funeral.

So... now waiting even longer. I think I have a good chance. He liked my interview. He sees my job performance daily. So he knows I bust my booty. Ugh.. I just wish I knew.

Would it be appropriate to send a condolence email? Not sure the whole etiquette about possible future boss things.

I think a sympathy card would be nice.  I don't know if I would send an email though.

Hopefully you hear something soon after his return. Good luck!

Agree with the others, I don't think I would send an email, a card would be better.

Good luck!

I would send a card. As the pp mentioned I wouldn't mention the job in the card.

This. Get a card. Don't send an email.

It would be nice for you to send a card, not an email.
