Does anyone know a recipe site for either slow cookers or ones I can prepare a head and just warm up in the oven.

I really think dinner is an important time for the family to spend together, but we are always scrambling to get things together that it never works out.  I'm hoping that with some new slow cooker recipes this will help.  Trying to get organized seems like an endless battle.

i make BBQ chicken alot and it's really easy

1-2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce (depending on how much chicken you put in) and add some coke (i thought it was weird but it actually comes out really good!)

mix and let cook for 8 hours

you can put in extra chicken and use later for pulled chicken sandwhiches too.

i usually serve with mac & cheese or mashed potatoes and a veggie side

Head on over to the crock pot moms group here on cafemom, they have lots of archived recipes.

I also have used: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ which is a year of slow cooking.

I like this recipe too.

I use about 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs for this because my hours are too long and breasts get yucky dry,  1/2 of a BIG discount salsa jar from Cosco but I add black beans, use frozen corn and then if I am feeling particularly "naughty" when it comes to my diet I stir in 1/2 to a block of cream cheese when I get home and serve over rice or with tortillo chips, sooooo yummmyyyyy, lol

About This Recipe

"Crock pot recipe. Beware - this is spicy, but is an excellent shredded beef for tacos, sandwiches or enchiladas!"

    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 teaspoons chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons cumin

    • 1 (4 ounce) cans green chilies
    • 1 (7 ounce) cans salsa verde
    • 1 cup sliced onion
    • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
    • 1 cup beef broth

Directions

  1. Place chuck roast in large crock pot and sprinkle with the salt and pepper, chili powder and cumin.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer on high for 5 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.
  3. Shred the meat with a fork and simmer on high for additional 10-15 minutes.
  4. Serve in enchiladas, tacos or on crusty rolls with the juice for dipping.

Put about 6 balls of crumpled aluminum foil at the bottom of the slow cooker and a whole chicken right on top (I squeeze in 2 because I have a big family). Season it however you like. Cook on low for 8 hours. Thats all you do! It is the most tender, moist, juicy chicken you have ever had. Tastes just like rotesserie chicken.

Pulled Pork is really easy too!

Put a pork roast in the crockpot. Add sliced onions, some salt, pepper, gralic, whatever you like. Dont add any liquid.

Cook on low 8 hours, remove and shred with 2 forks, add BBQ sauce and serve on buns.
