HOW DO YOU DEFINE "THE AMERICAN DREAM"?

What does having the American Dream mean to you?

I own my house, own our vehicles, have 2 beautiful kids and a dog.  I am still not sure if that is "the American dream" although that is sort of the accepted definition of it, isnt it.

Being debt free, owning your home, owning two cars, typically it's having 2 kids happily married

For me it is having a job that is easy, pays great and a house that is clean and orderly.  Getting out of debt and the house being in great condition.  We are moving forward on this.

My American Dream would be:

-clean air. No pollution
-safety
-pretty good public schools
-cheap wines!
-cheap Lays potato chips!
-good food is cheap, too.
-designer goods is 80% less than where I was born.
-luxury cars are cheaper.
-abundant availability of organic foods.
-famous singers holds a lot of concerts and lessons here! It's pretty cool.

Having your own house, car is the same everywhere around the world. I'm from
Asia.

The American Dream for me is low to no debt, owning a home, being financially able to pay all our bills ourselves (no government assistance), and having a career, not a "job"

I'd say home, car, education. I'd like it to be debt free with kids and a dog.
I've got it all but the debt free part

The American Dream is what you make of it.. I take it to mean, nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it, it is available to you.. :)
