What will your Mother's Day look like?

I don't really focus on me during a lot of holidays or even my birthday but I do love Mother's Day.  I know many people think it's another "hallmark" holiday - as I do Valentine's Day - but I don't mind having a day to celebrate as a mother.

At the same time, I have a husband that doesn't do well with planning activities or buying good gifts (he is so random sometimes) or helping the girls to do what they want for me.

There have been some Mother's Day that I didn't get anything or do anything, which saddened me.  At his best effort, there was something in the morning and that was it....all of less than 1 hour.  I'm predicting the same.  I see him taking the girls late Saturday night or early Sunday morning to get something really quick, buy something for breakfast and then him working the rest of the day.  Yes, the girls are old enough to create something but they still need some help.

I don't have too many chances to get spoiled and I am not one to request it but one day out of the year would be fantastic.

How about you?  What do you think your Mother's Day will look like?

Well, this is DH's weekend to have the skids, so Sunday morning we will feed them breakfast so their mother doesn't have to be bothered with that, and then they will spend the day with her. SD lives with us so she will be back over around suppertime, I'm sure.

While they are with their mother, it will be DS, DH, and me. Not sure what we'll do. Would be nice if we could clean out the garage and get all that junk out of there.

My boys are taking me to breakfast at McDonald's (on me of course) :-)
I don't want to cook and every place to eat will be so crowded, so we're going to McDonald's.
Then I plan to spend the afternoon with my mom at the casino. She loves gambling, I hate it, but its her day and I want to spend time with her and she's so happy about that.
For dinner, I'm getting take out from a local restaurant.

I haven't decided. I really am starting to dislike the day.......so much guilt and pressure from mil, my mother, SIL and then DH saying, "you pick, anything you want to do.........." What a joke, it has nothing to do with me, if it did, then I feel too guilty!

I love being a mother though!

If my birthday a few weeks ago is any indication, it will be just another day.

I HATE going out on Mother's Day. Everything is so crowded and you wait forever plus if we go with dh family they have breakfast around noon and the kids and I get up around 7 so we have had breakfast long before so they have no interest breakfast especially after the hour wait for a table.

Now when my oldest started baseball it solved the going out thing but too many moms complained about Mother's Day games so now they don't schedule any (annoying I mean you are mom if it wasn't for jr you wouldn't be a mom and you can't take an hour or two to watch him play tball) so now it's an issue again for dh. I want to stay home. If I don't have baseball since we are never at home I just want to be at home. My mom doesn't care just a phone call and card. She gets my sister and I are mothers too and get to have a day but dh family makes an issue. But my ideal day Sunday is he gets breakfast and Dunkin, BBQ for lunch and a getting some yard work done.

Probably a whole lot of nothing. We'll probably end up at the park with the dog or at the mall wandering around.

It is to me a made up holiday that growing up was a huge grandma/ mom day which involved alot of hoopla and stress. Ive tried to keep it lower key and always say every day is mothers day. Dh bought cards from the kids and him. we went last night for a drive and had a late dinner at sonic with the kids. today maybe we will do a bit of shopping.

You should go and do something fun with the kids or by yourself for a couple of hours!
