Things I never could have imagined saying

This morning, I am in the shower.  Steph is getting dressed in the bathroom.  She hands me her panties INTO THE SHOWER to "fix" (meaning help her figure out which way they go on).  Then complains that her panties are all wet.

My response?

"If you don't want your panties to be wet, don't give them to me while I'm in the shower"

HA! I had this one recently:

Why is there  a Tonka tire with a toothbrush on the bathroom vanity?

Lol, Sounds like something my DD would fit over.

No, you are not going to grow a penis like brother.

Son, if you insist on only wearing long pants and long sleeves, well, you might get hot on days like this.

No, brother can not quit playing in the middle of his soccer game because you want him to bring you a drink of his water bottle.

If you throw your ice cream cone, it breaks. No I can not fix it.

No you cannot quit school now and become a gardener.

And my favorite, after 8 flipping years, "yes, son, you need to shower." Why do I have to say this every night?

Some days my kids and hubby present me with opportunities for so many "why is there a ______ on the __________?" questions that I daydream about what life will be like as an empty nester widow...

I've had so many of these with ds.

You do not moon adults. No one wants to see you butt.
I know there's two balls in there but back up. No they're not toys

I have had this happen a few times.

Also, sometimes I find myself using a few of my own mother's expressions.

I caught myself channelling my dad the other day...

"It's not faaaair that..."

My response?  "Fair is a weather report".  Oh, hi dad.  Where did you come from?
