Needing stamping inspiration

Hello Ladies~

It has been awhile since I was here at CM and I wanted to come and introduce myself..my name is Rene' and I have been stamping since I was about 21 but for quite awhile now I have not even picked up a stamp and ink pad and it really saddens me that I just have no "mojo" when it comes to stamping but I really want to get back into the swing of things and make some cards. What do you all do when you have no inspiration? How do you get out of the rut?

All ideas welcomed:-)

Hi Rene, when my mojo is missing I usually just play. I take a stamp that I've been wanting to try and stamp with it, using different colors inks and coloring them in (if able). Stamp it several times to see what kind of effect I can get. I also try stamping on other things like wood, fabric....things I wouldn't usually use to see how it works on those surfaces. Basicly I just play. Not trying to create, not trying to be perfect, and try to do different things to explore other possibilities.

When your mojo is high and you are flooded with ideas, jot them down in a sketchbook to save for later when you've lost desire or can't find ideas....also looking through magazines or just checking out the stamp department at the craft store!!!

Hope your mojo comes back to play!!!

I will usually find some solace in card making sketches...they ALWAYS seem to get me out of a funk.  Go check out Split Coast Stampers...they have card sketches, challenges, galleries everything you want to look at is at your fingertips on that website.  Also I look thru magazines, and books to get ideas.

I always go to YouTube and watch videos of the latest craft products and projects. That always gets me going again. Walking thru a Michael's usually works as well. :o)
