Okay, how do I get my 3yr. old to assist himself when he pees? I mean potty training has been a breeze. But I have to assist him most of the time. (Btw, I mean that I have to hold his wee-wee) And I don't mind but my gosh, if I'm half asleep in the morning I'm not a happy camper doing it. (funny, now I know how a man feels when they shoot outside of the bowl!) LOL.
And if I'm busy doing something, it sure would be nice for him to take the intiative even if he makes somewhat a mess so long as he's doing it, ya know.
So tell me I'm not alone on this and give me advice to move this part of potty training along, please!! And yes, I have tried to show him many times but I guess he's not ready yet? And yes, he's been to the bathroom w/his Daddy too.
Ugh! Help reassure me that it will work out soon and I won't have to do this much longer! LOL.

I have heard about putting a Cheerio in the toilet water she he can "aim" at it. That way he learn where the pee should go.
Good luck!
I have also heard a drop of food coloring (see what color the water will change to!!)
will encourage aiming IN the bowl. My son watched and was instructed by Daddy on how to aim.
It took several times of this, so good luck!

we put cheerios in the toliet and i tell hold your wee wee and shoot it like a watergun you have to hit the ceral works like a charm he's been holding "it" himself for about eight months and he just turned three... good luck!
Well I have to assit my son to, he is also 3 I only have to hold down he pee if its stiff because then it will go everywere and thats usually everymorning, but if he is sitting on the toliet far back enough it will usually stay in the toilet.
I feel ya! My MIL told me that when my Hubby was lil' it took til' he was 4 to do so on his own. My lil' one is gonna be 4 on Nov. 29th so I'm hoping he'll get the hang of it by then. He.He.
