Toddler using sound effects for words....

My son talks in 2-3 word sentences but occasionally he will use sound effects for words. Like for sleeping he makes a snoring noise for fireworks he shakes his fist and says "Tatata". For the word cat he says meow. Also he calls our dogs red doggie and blue doggie since one is red and one is black. When he wants to watch Madagascar he says "meow on". I was just wondering if any other toddlers his age are doing this too. Tia

How old is he? My son is 3 and he will say the word and the sound, depending on what it is.
