Heirloom seeds : Sharing, Preserving History, Insuring our food supply
We have all heard about the need to stock up food supply for the possible problems ahead, but this year I have decided to do something very different. I have decided to preserve a part of our history also. I am gathering rare and unusual seeds and plants from seed savers exchange, friends, and other places. This year I am hoping to have a bountiful garden of produce from the Mayflower, the Cheroke trail, etc. This is a fun way to teach my 12 year daughter about history, plus insure the protection of these seeds.
Remember ladies the store bought seeds are often genetically engineered and many can not be saved and re-grown. Preserving these seeds also insures our food source. If any of you have any heirloom seeds, please share a few with me..........Thanks
