need some advice..

My youngest dd is 2 (just turned 2 on 3/18). We have had some issues with her. She got tubes placed in her ears at 15 months. Some degree of hearing loss still. (the first test showed Moderate hearing loss and the second test 2 weeks later showed mild hearing loss)

Well, I have been watching her very closely for the last week and a half. All her behaviors etc.

She does not respond unless she is facing me and i have eye contact. Her words sound muffled most of the time. When told no or wait a minute, she grabs my hair with both hands and pulls - hard. When told not to throw her toys and pick them up, she gets on hands and knees and drools/spits onm the floor. She fights and refuses to get changed/dressed until she is ready to do so. (some days i just dont have that kind of time) She was doing really well going on the potty, now she cries and wont use it at all. (she has been using the potty a few times a day since before she was 2) She breaks down into fits for no reason. (my dad says hi to her and she runs and cries) When she meets new people it takes 3-4 times of seeing that person before she "talks" and another 3-4 times before she starts to hug them or play with them.

I am not sure what to do to help her anymore. Birth 2 Three (early intervention) comes out weekly to work with her. And the speech therapist from Birth 2 Three comes out to work with her 2 times a month. She is in a playgroup through the Family Resource center on mondays. And she has the Birth 2 Three playgroup at least once a month. I try using positive disipline with her.

Does anyone have any insights as to what is going on with my munchkin? My older dds (ages 10 & 9) did not behave like this. And i will do my best to answer all questions if there is something i didnt cover.

Maybe you should also ask the other toddler group as this one doesn't seem to be getting alot of activity.

Maybe try advice for mom's group or an older aged group.

I think you may want to discuss this further with her intervention specialists from birth 2 three. What have they said about this behavior ? Sounds like she is testing boundaries and testing you. You may need to become much more strict and firm with her than you had to with your other two children. Every child is different and the positivie discipline approach does not always work with every child's personality type
