Best age for potty training?

What is the best age for potty training?

We have a 16 month old daughter and she is showing interest in the toilet. We bought a potty for her, and she plays with it, and she has gone to the bathroom in it before. She also tries to take her diaper off.

Would it be better to start around 18 months or older?

You dont have to rush into it. But she does seem to have readyness to try. Just continue to let her take interest in it as your doing. My youngest daughter is 18 months and im not gonna full on jump into potty training until late spring or sometime this summer. She is still young so just take your time and have fun with it.

My daughter is 17 months and shows interest... She told me potty an went pee in the toilet once!! But I haven't officially started potty training because I don't know how... Looks like I will be reading up on some of these threads for advice!

It all depends on the child, if shes ready then go for it! My middle lo was pretty much potty trained before age 2 then went back to having no interest again. So that may happen but if shes interested then shes ready and no need to wait.

I would just continue at her pace like you are already doing.

I think it's different for each child. Some are ready earlier, some later, it's really up to them.
