Love of Nature
Throughout the existence of the world
Nature has made no distinctions
When offering its bountiful gifts.
Grass, trees, insects, animals, humans:
All have partaken of its fullness
With not a murmur from Mother Nature.
She doesn't boast of her wonders,
Doesn't withhold anything of herself,
Doesn't Complain about a lack of respect
And the many ravages to her body.
She is our perfect host, the foundation
Of civilization and life. How horribly
Humanity behaves toward her!
Christian Version
Christianity does not replace nature; it imitates its goodness in giving gifts to all, allowing everyone to take a share, and not even complaining when it is ravaged into waste and destruction. "Grace builds on nature," Christian theology teaches. We cannot live or love without the gifts God gives us through our own nature and the natural world. We continue God's love by respecting and loving all of nature, which he created for us.
