What would you do?

Ok , my hubby and I got into an argument, sort of, about this. 

If intruders break into your house, do you grab the phone and the gun, just the gun, wait til you see if he is armed, shoot and ask questions later, hold him at gunpoint, what if there is more than one intruder? Just want to know what everyone will do. I told my husband if it looks like the intruder isn't armed and I can see his hands I would hold him at gunpoint while calling 911.  He told me if anyone is in the house to shoot them no matter what.  Illinois state law is they have to be advancing on you in order to shoot them and it be self defense.

I would grab the gun first ask questions later!!!!! Of course I haven't been in the situation. But if they are in my house,,, they will be meeting the end of the barrel.
