Hi there!  I went through this with both of my boy's pregnancies-- was given loads of terbutaline, felt like I was going to climb the walls, and then given mag drip, more than once each time....

And yes, my boys both have autism, though now it's at a higher functioning level...

I have a blog where I have written mostly to my family members who DON'T GET IT-- because of course, how could they?

It's called Autism Land-- Like Candy Land on Crack

Take a look, let me know what else I should be telling them...

  • Hi, I just found this group because i was looking for info on Austim and vaccines. I saw the title of the group and knew i needed to look into this. I went into preterm labor at 28 weeks with my twins. I was given the Mag drip SEVERAL times. I'm concered. They seem like normal boys right now, but i am worried because my little brother has Autism. Is there any info about it being proven that these preterm labor drugs are causing Autism? If so can someone post the link?

  • I was having contractions Sunday morning at 2:00 am real strong, I went to the hospital. I was 2-3cm dilated and 50% effaced. They gave me a brethine shot it didn't work still was having contractions. They gave me another shot and I was still having contractions after that. I was put on magnesium sulfate and had to be admitted contractions gradually stopped through the night but the magnesium sulfate made me feel very sleepy and terrible. I been released from the hospital this morning. I have to take brethine orally every 6 hours and see the doctor monday morning. I been put on bedrest until seeing the doctor. They didn't want to deliver my baby cause I'm only 34 weeks. Now, a week later i been researching the medications and i'm very concerned on what they have did to my baby. I want to schedule to be induced, i'm 35 weeks and have had two other pregnancies where i delivered at 35 and 36 weeks. I'm thinking my doctor will not agree to induce. I trying to found what are my rights in this matter.
