Mom's I know this is kind of off the topic, but after a eye opener today I felt that every parent should know these simple facts. We all take the time to talk to our children about strangers, taking them to the doctor, fighting for their rights, ect. But did you know that our child id kits may not be as accurate as we think that they are. We had an attempted abduction at our school this week and it really hit home as my cousin has been missing since 1984. I went on the Center of missing and exploited children to make sure that I had the most up to date information kits for my children. Here are the new things that I found out and wanted to pass on. Your child's picture and finger prints should be updated every 6 months. They need to not just be on the paper packets, but also on a disc to make it quicker for authorities to get the information out. If your child has a scar or birthmark, they need to be photographed up close and documented where they are. Finger prints are only good if they are taken by a professional. God forbid any of us should need these, but if we do we need to have the most updated information available. You can go to Center for Missing and Exploited children and there are several links on where to download the forms for free
