Researchers at Women & Infants Hospital are investigating the impact various flavors and features of hookah have on pregnancy.

Who is eligible? The study is open to women who:
• Are between the ages of 18 and 40.
• Are pregnant.
• Have used hookah during their pregnancy or up to
three months before becoming pregnant.
As part of the study, you will be asked to complete three interviews,
two during your pregnancy and one after your baby is born. These
interviews include questionnaires about your experience and
thoughts about using hookah. Your study participation will last
approximately 12 months.

Researchers will also collect:
• Pictures of the hookah you use and where you use it.
• Saliva, urine and breath samples.
All information gathered through these interviews is kept
confidential.

You will be paid up to $170 for your time. Payments are $50 for
each of the three interviews and $20 for photos of your hookah.
