I'm in a acute care CNA class doing our clinicals at the local hospital. I was wondering if anyone wanted to share what department they work in at their hospital. I picked med-surg because I thought I might get a well rounded experience. but post-op looked good too.
I WORKED IN THE MED/SURG DEPARTMENT, AND I LOVED IT!! BUT I WAS JUST PER-DIEM AND I WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH HOURS SO I FOUND A JOB AT AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY. IT IS OK, BUT MY GOAL IS TO GO BACK INTO THE HOSPITAL AND WORK. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
I work on the med/surg floor also. It is very well rounded. I get many different pt's. The hospital is so small where I work that if they needed help in ICU they would just send you down there, even to like the emergency department. I absolutely refused to do nursing homes though. They arent me one bit! GL on all your adventures!
