MUSHROOM WILD RICE

With only 7 ingredients, this rice is quick to assemble in the morning before work.  Great side dish for pot lucks and aside a meat entree.

2 1/4 cups wter

1 can (10-12 oz) condensed  beef consomme, undiluted

1 can condensed French onion soup, undiluted or 1 package onion soup mix in 10 ounces water.

3-4 cans (4 oz each) mushroom stems and pieces, drained

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 cup uncooked brown rice

1 cup uncooked wild rice.

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients; stir wel.  Cover and cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or until rice is tender.  Yield:  12 - 16 servings.

Tip:  Feel free to add or substitute your favorite veggie.  This is a great recipe for use as a guide to cooking rice in the slow cooker.
