September 13th I'm flying to California to meet the amom and see my son! It's been 6 years since I've seen him. I'm happy and scared at the same time.After the first f2f ,he stopped communicating with me. I've had 2 mothers day cards, this year and last. I don't think it has sunk in yet. I plan to let him lead the way, and take it very slow. I think he got too overwhelmed the first time.Just to have this chance again is so good.
I think letting him take the lead is a great idea. My 15 yr old is in the process of being adopted due to me not being able to care for him the way he deserves due to my mental illnesses. It will be an open adoption so I think it will be same for him. I may send him an initial letter after adoption goes through, as social services says i can't have contact with him until adoption goes through except on his birthday and christmas. So happy for you as well! Finally the day is almost here! A month will fly by fast, however, I didn't realize this is your 2nd ftf visit with him. Now you know what to do and that's awesome. Can't wait to see the update.
