This group is for women who are dedicated to having the birth of their child take place as naturally as possible. Whether you have had a natural birth in the past or are gearing up for your first birth, this board will allow you to safely learn, inquire, and share your questions, fears, and birth stories without fear of being harshly judged or criticized.

To furthur define, natural birth is a system of managing childbirth in which the mother receives preparatory education in order to remain conscious during, and assist in delivery with minimal or no use of drugs or anesthetics. Natural childbirth is a childbirth philosophy that attempts to minimize medical intervention, particularly the use of anesthetic medications and surgical interventions such as episiotomies, forceps and ventouse deliveries and caesarean sections.

Important to know:

On this board, we DO believe that natural childbirth can happen in any setting whether it be in your home, birth center, back-seat of your car ;-), or even a hospital, yes I said it.. a hospital too...the objective here is to offer support and encouragement to women who are ready to take the birth of their children into their own hands no matter what their medical circumstance is, or where they are choosing to have their birth take place.

Other great topics for discussion and support are breastfeeding, parenting, post-partum care, and newborn care.
