The word on the news is that more and more families are facing tough economic times and no feels this more than Michigan and Indiana. Our once welcomed and loved automotive industry is drying up faster than a puddle in the desert. Many families in the area are feeling the pinch so I thought this group could help each other by making suggestions and giving ideas.

If there is one thing this world needs it's new fresh ideas. We need to work smarter not harder and be more cunning than ever before. If we stick together we can really come out of this turbulent economic weather better for.

My Penny Pincher idea is try stores like Save-a-lot or Aldi's first to see if the generic is cheaper and most times I get most of my shopping done there.

Before running out to buy brand new baby items (which are expensive and only used for a few months), try craigslist.org.  Most of the things that are sold there are like brand new and less than half the price of buying at a retail store.  This is one thing that has saved me hundreds of dollars since having the twins.

This goes for other things as well, such as household items.  If buying a car seat though, make sure that it isn't expired or hasn't been in a car accident.
