I am an American-born Chinese (commonly known as ABC). I am married to a Caucasian, and have two girls. I am most interested in trying to incorporate my ethnic culture into my girls' upbringing. Now that my older daughter has started Chinese school, it is giving me more of a way to delve into my culture and traditions, as my parents never really focused on a lot of traditions.
On the other hand, when I "compare notes" with other children of immigrant parents, we often realize that some things that we considered "quirks" unique to our parents are actually more cultural!
I look forward to discussions, sharing and getting to know you all better here!

My name is Cassandra. I am half-American (meaning white) & half-Korean.
So, I guess I am in half way in the group. (LOL) I have 3 boys that are ages 15, 10, & 3. I am married to my high school sweetheart. I am also a homeschool mom & enjoy it very much on most of the time.
Christina, glad to see you have the group up now!!
I am a 26 yr old mom of one baby girl, Nylah Mei-Li, who is 8 1/2 months. I am half-Taiwanese (my mom) and half-American (my dad is a mix of Scottish-French-Cajun). I lived a lot of my life in Asia, including 8 years in Hong Kong, and returned to the USA in 1998. I enjoyed the rare chance to live overseas in that it taught me more about my Asian heritage.
My husband, Clyde, is African-American.... so you can see that our daughter Nylah is a beautiful combination of many cultures!!
I look forward to connecting more and getting to know you all better!

So I am 29 and not only am I white, I'm white and Southern. So I guess they don't come any whiter than me, LOL. But my wonderful husband is Chinese/Filipino.
I have two beautiful children, though neither of them look anything like me.
Camryn is 5 and I will be homeschooling her for Kindergarten, possibly 1st grade. At least until we are back on the mainland. Malakai is 3 and is completely and totally wild. But almost potty trained. It has been a long 18 months with his potty training. But it is finally paying off.
I look forward to chatting with all you other mommies.

Just to introduce my self, I am not Asian, neither is my husband .. actually I am of French Canadian Heritage and DH is portuguese! However, our beautiful daughter was born in the Hunan Province of China in 1995. We were guided to her in March of 1996. There is a traditional Chinese theory/story know as the "Red Thread", which says that each person is born with an invisible red thread, the ends of which are tied to those that they will meet and love in their life time. Thank goodness we held in our hands a peice of her Red Thread!
I had issues with his dad in the beginning- I'm not filipina and I am not who he thought would make the best wife, but he has come around and tells Romar all the time that I am the best wife for him. Thank goodness for small favors.
His mom and I get along great.
Anyways, Hi!
Tracy
Hi, my name is Jahnae, it’s pronounced like Johnny. I will be 25 in March. I am half Filipina and half European stuff. My mother was born here. Her parents came to States in ’62. I have been married to my husband Zachary, who is all American, for 3 years and we’ve been together for 5. I have a beautiful 20-month old daughter named Anastacia. We are expecting another child in August and I’m hoping it’s a boy. I do work outside the home as an Administrative Assistant and to hopefully be promoted to the Operations Manager shortly. My husband is the General Manager of a fire and water damage restoration company, so he’s pretty busy all the time. I’m hoping to make new friends. Glad to be here.
Maureen here (I'll be 28 next month). I'm from Indonesia (born & raised there) and has been here in the States for almost 2 years now. My husband and I just had our first baby last December 7, 2006 so I'm a first time mom and looking forward to make new friends especially other mommies.
Thank you & have a nice day!
Maureen
