The banana cake recipe looks really good, I'm gonna have to try it.

I read thru your blog and the cookbook part I loved. A few years back my son 24 at the time said mom I want a cook book for Christmas and he said no not just any cookbook I want one with real everyday food not fancy food. I said what do you mean and he said I want a cookbook with all the food you cook recipes. So I spent a few months writing down all the recipes for the food that I knew he loved. Took so long because I have never measured so I did what I always do pour it into my hand then I would pour it into cups of spoons and measure that way. I also put helpful tips anything from measuring to cooking potatoes most of the times you will cook appx 2 potatoes for each guest with the exception of baked potatoes.

Anyway I got it done and 3 other family memember asked for one. I put them on 4x6 index cards and bought very nice but plain small photo albums and they all loved them.

Sorry for going on your blog just brought back that memory. Thanks for sharing your blog.

That's Awesome.  I think everyone needs a cookbook of the family favorites.  I know my hubby (well fiance at the time), helped dig out his favorite recipes for my book, he said it was alot of work hunting them down from his mom even.  She has a variety of books and others from memory.  I can't tell you how many times they've called ME for a recipe they can't find and know they put in my book LOL.   I can't wait to give my dd her's in March.  I hope she cherishes it as much as I do.
