I know store brought icing would not do well piping but the kids want to decorate there own cupcakes for Memorial Day and I was wondering how I could stiffen the frosting. This is just for fun each kid gets there own can of frosting.

I guess you could add some powedered sugar to it. Most canned frosting I have seen would be fine for piping just like they are. In fact, the Wilton canned frosting (which tastes really icky btw) if too thick IMO.
