Young people with type one diabetes may have a hard time sleeping, which could lead to bigger problems.

A new study found young diabetics between ages 10 and 16 spent more time in lighter sleep stages than kids without diabetes.

Researchers say that led to behavior problems and poor grades, and made it tougher to control higher blood sugar levels.

I'm glad I saw this cuz my 13 yr  diabetic daughter doesn't sleep alot... She stays up really late at night ( I homeschool so she doesn't have to get up early for school) She sleeps in a little in the morning. I am going to ask her doctor about this at her next check up...

I would like to read the actual study that was done.  I have always felt that because I check my DD at night I interrupt her sleep cycles  - but I would like to know why they never get deep sleep and have the lighter sleep stages. I found it very interesting!
