my 15 month old dd has these angry red patches on the backs of her knees and in the cook of her elbow and under her arms. She also has raised somewhat leathery or scaley strip down one side starting at the armpit and going down to about her waist. Is this exema or somthing else? I recently bought a new type of detergent. It was on sale. She used to be SUPER sensitive to soaps and detergents and I changed to much gentler stuff and also switched her to cloth diapers. I haven't had any skin problems with her since doing those changes, until now. I am guessing its a combination of winter dryness and the new detergent. I just want to make sure that the red patches are exema and not something else because she has never had those before.

Poor thing. I guess it's eczema. How about change your detergent to Cheer Clear and Gentle (This is the only brand my ds can tolerate) and use humidifer as well.
