* 24/7 CHAT 4 MOMS
So...it's Sunday night and I am exhausted after a day of chasing kids around the house. I ended up falling asleep on the couch for a little while. I wake up at like midnight and wake Dave up to head upstairs to bed. We crawled into bed and I layed next to him and said...."Well I think I'm gonna have the baby this week, I can just feel it." *Little did I know how RIGHT I was*
4:17am I wake up to get up out of bed. I stand up and feel this gush...I walk to the bathroom. I've never had my water break on it's own I've always had it artificially broken so here I am thinking to myself "did my water just break or did I lose my ability to hold my urine and did I just pee everywhere?" So I sit down on the toilet and it just keeps coming out...I'm like...oh god my water just broke. I walk back to the bedroom and wake Dave up to tell him my water just broke. That's when the contractions started. He goes with me back to the bathroom and brings the phone, we call and wake his mother up so we can get childcare for the kids and then he calls my doctor. Doctor says he'll meet us at the hospital. His mom is meeting us at the house so we end up leaving for the hospital around 5:23am. We get there almost at 6:00am. Up in labor and delivery they check me and I only ended up being 4 cm dilated. By now the contractions are about 5 minutes apart. They get me admitted and my doctor calls to say he is doing a case downstairs and will be up to check on me afterward. I opted for the epidural and they came in within in a half hour to give it to me I was soooo happy. After they gave me the epidural I started to feel pressure in my bottom about 10 minutes later, they checked, I was 10 cms. They called me doctor downstairs and told him and he said not to push until he could get up to me. So I ended up being able to hold out for him to make it up in time. YAY! I pushed for about 5 minutes and then Briella popped out. I didn't tear or need the episiotomy I am completely in tact and didn't need stitches!
Briella was born 11/17/08 at 8:39am, weighing 5lbs 14oz, 18 1/2 inches long. She is extremely healthy and got to come home with us even though she is a preemie. When we left the hospital she weighed 5lbs 7 oz and is doing GREAT.
I am breastfeeding and she is doing great with that and is amazing. She is gorgeous in every possible way. Dave and I are so blessed that she was healthy being a little over a month early ; )
WELCOME TO THE WORLD BRIELLA LOUISE!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
