Frequent urination in toddler...but no UTI?

My 3 1/2 yr old daughter has been going potty VERY often.  Sometimes 4 times in an hour.  There is no bladder infection.  She doesn't have any discomfort, pain, itching, ect.  Doc says he's seen this before, a "phenomenon" that last 2-4 weeks, then disappeers.  It is summer, so she is drinking more, but it hasn't been going on all summer, just 2 weeks or so.  Any ideas or similar stories?  If it doesn't clear up, I will take her to a urologist.
